Definition: 意味
such; that kind of; no way!
- Describes something of “that kind” or “such a thing,”
- referring to something previously mentioned or understood
- by both speaker and listener.
- Similar to “sono” but often carries a stronger
- or more emphatic nuance.
- Can also express disbelief, rejection, or surprise,
- akin to “no way!” or “that’s impossible!”
- Often precedes nouns (e.g., そんな人 – such a person)
- or acts adverbially (e.g., そんなことない – that’s not true).
