Definition: 意味
whether or not
- Used to express uncertainty, doubt, or to ask about alternatives,
- equivalent to “whether or not” in English.
- It connects a clause expressing a possibility or question
- to another clause, often followed by verbs like “know” (知る),
- “think” (思う), or “decide” (決める).
- The preceding clause is usually in plain form (dictionary form, ta-form, nai-form),
- i-adjective (plain), na-adjective (plain: だ/です), or noun (plain: だ/です).
