(ori ni)
Definition: 意味
On the occasion of; at the time of; when
- Used to express “when [something happens]” or “on the occasion of [something]”.
- Often followed by a verb indicating an action taken during that occasion.
- Can be preceded by a verb in dictionary form, past tense, or a noun with の.
- Similar in meaning to 〜ときに (toki ni) or 〜さいに (sai ni),
- but often carries a slightly more formal or specific nuance
- of “on a particular occasion/chance”.
- It implies that something happens when a specific situation or opportunity presents itself.
