Definition: 意味
on the other hand; meanwhile; one side
- Used to indicate contrast or a counter-perspective between two ideas or situations.
- Can also mean “meanwhile” or “at the same time,” expressing a concurrent action.
- Refers to “one side” or “one direction” out of two or more possibilities.
- Often appears as 〜する一方 (suru ippou) meaning “tend to…” (continue to…) or “on the other hand, also…”
